What do you do when you’ve inherited every photo elderly family members have ever taken? It begins with understanding which photos tell the most lasting stories…and possibly restoring damaged ones. Sound overwhelming? It can be, but that’s where your photo manager comes in (me). I'm Elena, and, as someone who has always loved using photos and film to tell stories, I’ll direct the process.
It all began with a theater background in college, later majoring in film and video production. Following college, I lived in New York, working on various TV programs for ten years (including shows for National Geographic, Discovery, TLC, and A&E). Eventually, I moved my family to Apex.
During this time, I’d carted boxes and boxes of my late mom’s photos from house to house, always intending to organize them. I’d thought them safe because they were always with me, but over the years and miles, some became damaged, faded, and moldy. After moving to Apex, I got serious, recognizing how important it was to preserve these memories for myself, my children, and – eventually – their children. This was my first restoration project, and I fell in love with both the process and the result, becoming a Certified Photo Manager.
And, just like that, Your Foto Legacy was born!
My heart in creating my company centers around transforming your family's precious memories into shareable keepsakes that will last a lifetime. From vintage WW2 prints to creating albums and slide shows for reunions and memorial services, I can address water damage, mold, and color-correction. Then I’ll recommend scanning them in for lifetime digital storage.
This process can bring up deep emotions as you sift through memories, wondering which ones make the most enduring legacies. That’s where you can rely on your photo manager, to gently and reverently ask the right questions. Together, we’ll figure out which are album-worthy, which are backups, which to dispose of, and which to keep because of the story they tell, something the casual observer wouldn’t know.
